At Gelato, our vision has always been to enable anyone on the planet to share their creativity in an eco-conscious way. Today we are making another stride on that journey by launching six new styles of eco-friendly t-shirts, hoodies, and sweatshirts made with organic cotton and recycled polyester - empowering you and your customers with more sustainable choices that have a positive impact on both people and planet.

Leverage the demand from sustainability-minded shoppers

In a recent survey by IBM, 6 out of 10 consumers say that they are willing to change their shopping habits if they can reduce their environmental impact, and nearly 8 out of 10 said that sustainability is important to them. These trends will also impact your business and how you prepare to cater to an increasing target group of eco-conscious consumers.

By expanding your products into eco-conscious apparel, you are not only choosing to make an impact with your business, but you are allowing your customers to use their purchasing power to help reduce their carbon footprint. As you expand and scale your sales of more eco-friendly products, you are also empowering more local farmers, communities, and shoppers to embrace the positive effects of organic farming and more sustainable materials.

Expand your store with durable materials that make a difference

Not only will more eco-conscious products help you make a positive impact on our planet, we have chosen to work with the highest quality brands and materials, which enable a more durable print that will truly enhance your one-of-a-kind designs.

Organic cotton

Organic cotton is naturally grown without the use of any chemical pesticides or fertilizers and has not been genetically modified (non-GMO). Conventional cotton farming uses chemicals that can poison the fields and water supplies consumed by animals, plants, and humans - farmers included. However, if more consumers and producers switch to organic cotton, we can reduce the global warming potential of cotton by up to 46%, as well as encourage more farmers to use natural methods, such as crop rotation, which helps stimulate the soil, fauna, and biodiversity.

The Global Organic Textile Standard organization, which leads the certification for organic fibers production based on both the ecological and social criteria, guarantees that the cotton used in the new collection is organically grown without the use of GMO seeds or harmful chemical products.

Recycled polyester

The new product line also uses recycled polyester, which is made with recycled polyester yarn from post-consumer PET-bottles. These are the same plastic bottles used for bottled water that would otherwise go to a landfill or end up in our oceans. Each year 9.5 million tons of single-use plastic are thrown into the ocean - contaminating the seas, and the animals and plants living in them. By choosing to sell products made of recycled polyester, you can help prevent more plastic from being disposed of and instead use them to fuel the sharing of creativity through the production of customized hoodies, t-shirts, and sweatshirts.

Global business means global impact

As always with Gelato, your products are made locally and on demand across our network of global production hubs - helping you reduce carbon emissions, waste, and delivery times while strengthening local businesses and communities. As we continue to expand our product selection moving forward, we will also grow our global coverage and the number of locations where eco-friendly products are produced.

Get ready to unleash the power of the new and more sustainable products in your store and help your customers take meaningful action.
